Fantasea!

15th February – 2nd March

Dive into a world of myth and mystery this February half term as you explore the fantastical creatures and legends of the deep blue sea!

From oceanic wonders to storybook tales, many myths have their roots beneath the waves. Did you know that the unicorn tang, found in the Indo-Pacific, is named for the horn-like protrusion on its head? Even more fascinating is the narwhal, with its iconic spiraling tusks, believed to have inspired the legend of the unicorn. These tusks were once treasured by royalty and churches across Europe, thought to possess magical healing properties.

From 15th February – 2nd March, they will be sharing stories like these where fantasy meets reality in the deep sea. Discover habitats from the Arctic ice to the lush rainforest canopies, each with their own sense of wonder.

Mythical creatures have escaped from the pages of storybooks and into our aquarium—can you find them all?

Don’t miss meeting the magical mermaid, who’ll be in her mystical grotto between 10am and 3pm daily (with a short break at midday) from 15th – 23rd February.

And join the fun at 12pm every day in the rear foyer for a fun craft workshop to make mad mushrooms and jazzy jellyfish!

All of this is included in your ticket!
