Description

Bristol Aquarium invites you to discover the wonders of the deep in the heart of the city. More than 40 naturally-themed displays are home to thousands of amazing aquatic creatures including tropical sharks, rays, seahorses, piranhas and so much more. We’re the only aquarium in the UK to feature a giant botanical house, known as our Urban Jungle, which showcases hundreds of exotic plant and tree species from around the world. Follow our South American Crop Trail and learn about our Orchid Conservation Project.

Explore seven themed zones taking you on a fascinating journey from the British coastline through warmer waters to exotic tropical seas. From the hidden world of UK coasts in our Sunken Shipwreck, you are transported to the tropical rainforest, mangroves and the stunning beauty of coral reefs - home to everything from seahorses and puffer fish to living corals and tropical sharks.

You can enjoy the closest of undersea encounters in an underwater walk-through tunnel through the reef, from inside a glass cavern and via bubble-helmet viewing points. More than 40 other naturally-themed displays reveal the sheer variety of life in the deep from crabs and lobsters to the amazing octopus and jellyfish. Plus you can find Nemo, Dory and their friends!

You can enter a life-size recreation of a sunken ship, step inside a seahorse display and walk across a wooden footbridge suspended above the open-top giant Coral Seas display. Enjoy unlimited entry all day; join us for daily talks and feeds (included in admission) and a host of varied events and themed weekends through the year. Children under three years old go free and discounted online tickets are available to pre-purchase before a visit.

Our nautically themed C-Shed café offers freshly-made wraps, baguettes or toasties all packed with delicious fresh ingredients. We’ve got all your favourite snacks covered too; cakes, teacakes, scones, cookies, muffins, fruit and crisps. The C-shed café also serves delicious Lavazza coffee as well as hot chocolate and a selection of teas. All hot drinks are available in ‘take-out’ cups.

Little tiddlers can enjoy our pirate themed colouring-in station complete with telescopes and binoculars for sea-searching fun. Colour in a ‘C-monster’ and hang it up on display for all to admire!
